Fishing

For the fisherman, there are two coarse fishing lakes within a few minutes’ drive from Wilf’s Cabin and day tickets for these can be purchased from the Forestry Commission. On the outskirts of Burley and at nearby Sway there are more coarse fisheries that boast monstrous Carp and Perch and access to these can be arranged, if required. For the game fisherman there are several, still-water fisheries that can provide for their needs and those famous rivers the Test, the Itchen and the Avon are all within easy reach and offer Brown Trout and Grayling fishing when in season.

Your hosts Ian and Tracy Thew, are both qualified  level 2 game angling coach and guided days, as well as instruction for beginners or coaching for the more experienced angler, are available if required.
